Miss Harris has been with Selma City Schools as an Elementary Music Specialist since the fall of 1990. Meadowview has been the base school each year.

Piano is the primary instrument, but I also play dulcimer and psaltery.

Miss Harris is also a Music Facilitator with the Alabama Institute for Education in the Arts (AIEA) in Montgomery, Alabama. (1996-present)

My whole teaching career has been with Selma City Schools.

My hope is to provide music experiences for students so that as they get older they will have music as one of their lifelong/leisure time options either choir, solo, and/or instrument performance.

Exposure to the arts of any kind, dance, theatre, music of all types, makes a lasting impression on people/children. Performance opportunities in the early years helps to develop and to bring out the creative spirit of children, and to give them an opportunity to shine!  School is a friendly environment for this opportunity as we all support and encourage each other. For this reason, I do like to have my students perform in public ... Central Alabama Fair in October, school-wide programs, nursing home, etc.  Parents, I ask for your help and support in this area in getting your student to the performance.  It is so worth seeing the smiles and hearing the words of praise for a job well done!
