Subjects Taught

I graduated from Auburn University at Montgomery in 1995 with a B.S. in Elementary Education, and received an M.S. in Elementary Education from Troy University at Montgomery in 1999.

I have a total of 20 years of teaching experience. I began teaching in the fall of 1996 at Autauga Academy in Prattville, AL where I taught 3rd Grade. I went to work at Billingsley School in the Autauga County School System for the 1997-98 school year. I taught 3rd Grade for seven years, and 2nd Grade for two years. When I got married in 2006, I moved to Selma and worked at Meadowview Elementary as a 3rd Grade teacher for one year. The follwowing year I changed to 2nd Grade and have remained there. I love teaching 2nd grade!

I live with my husband in Selma, where we raise and show Arabian horses. We are members of Indian Grave Baptist Church in Billingsley. We currently have 10 horses and one dog.

I began showing horses in 1985 as a child. I feel that my years of preparing horses for competition have helped me in my teaching profession in many ways. In the horse show arena, as well as the classroom, I have a goal that I work toward. I strive for excellence in my students, just as I do in my horses. I try to be positive in presenting information to students so they can have a wonderful learning experience in my class.
