  About The School

Meadowview Elementary

Established in 1961, Meadowview Elementary exemplifies hands-on learning with emphasis on environmental education and research based academic programs.  Students and parents are encouraged to join an educational community at Meadowview that strives to provide the best educational experience possible.

Meadowview Elementary is an Alabama Reading Initiative(ARI) and Alabama Math Science Technology Institute(AMSTI) school.  Teachers have been trained in both areas to improve each student's learning.  Meadowview has great DIBELS, and ACT Aspire scores.

Meadowview has three outdoor classrooms with an arboretum and goldfish pond.  Artist Charlie Lucas' tin artwork is displayed outside for all to enjoy.  Beautiful wrought iron fences encompass the entire campus for excellent safety.

Some of our halls are hand painted with forest friends, pencils, crayons, and a medieval castle.  Our new mascot, the Meadowview lion, greets each person as he enters the school.
